Who We Are
The mission of the Mid Rivers Elementary PTO is to enhance the educational environment through volunteer and financial resources, to promote communication between the school administration, staff, parents, and students, and to foster pride in Mid Rivers throughout the community.  This purpose is met through the efforts and support of parents, families and teachers who are committed to enhancing the learning experience of our children. Through our MRE PTO many parents are able to get connected with other parents and stay informed about what is happening at school and in our school district.  The PTO meets the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30 PM in the school library. We extend an invitation to all interested parents, friends and family who wish to join. Membership is only $5.00 per family. Here, at MRE we realize it takes each of us to make a positive impact on the educational lives of students at Mid Rivers Elementary.  We invite you to join us in that effort! There are many exciting activities and events planned throughout the year.  Our goal is to have all parents involved.

Specific information on events and activities are published in the monthly principal and PTO newsletters as well 
as various flyers that detail the events.   Our entire budget comes from fundraising events that are held throughout the year.  All proceeds go back into Mid Rivers Elementary student activities and teacher and classroom support.  Through fundraising efforts, the PTO has been able to provide Mid Rivers Elementary with items and financial support that the school may otherwise have to do without. Here are some of the items and activities that have been funded through Mid Rivers PTO over the past few years:
Playground and classroom equipment
Technology (SmartBoards, eBeams, projectors, instructional clickers, etc.)
Library books
Grade level activities
Yearly reading program incentives
Club activities
 
Assemblies
Thanks to the funds raised from the previous two years, PTO was able to purchase iPad technology for the kindergarten and first grade classrooms, ten laptops and five document cameras to be loaned out for all grades.  It is our goal to raise $17,000 for additional iPads and laptops.   Participation and membership in the PTO at your child’s school is key in promoting a strong home-school partnership that positively supports student growth and development during the school years.  We invite you to be a part of the MRE PTO so that your influence can make an impact on the lives of both yours and many other students.
