Build the Habit of Good Attendance:

“Attendance is essential to school success, but too often students, parents and schools do not realize how quickly absences — excused and unexcused — can add up to academic trouble. Chronic absence — missing 10 percent of the school year, or just 2-3 days every month can translate into third-graders unable to master reading, sixth-graders failing courses and ninth-graders dropping out of high school. Low-income students, who most depend on school for opportunities to learn, are especially harmed when they miss too much instruction.”

Late Arrivals:
-Children arriving after 9:00 am need to be signed in at the office and receive a pass that they will give to their teacher. Parents must accompany children to the office to sign-in.
We ask that parents do not walk their child to the classroom because it can interrupt the learning environment. BUT, a staff member is always available if your child would like someone to walk with. :-)

All parents signing children out early will be asked to show valid identification on EVERY occasion.
- Parents should never go to the classroom to pick up their child. Teachers cannot dismiss a child from the classroom to a parent.

Change in Normal Dismissal Procedures:

-Please contact the office by 3:30 with any changes in dismissal procedures.

- If your child will be riding a different bus home you will need to contact the transportation 24 hours in advance
-Children will be sent home as usual, no matter how insistent they may be unless we hear from the parent. We greatly appreciate your understanding!
