At our school, we believe that success isn’t defined by where you start, but by how you grow! That’s why Mr. Musgrove and Dr. Romanchuk are proud to promote a growth mindset among both students and adults. A growth mindset is the belief that abilities and intelligence can be developed through effort, practice, and perseverance. Rather than saying, “I can’t do this,” we encourage our learners to say, “I can’t do this yet.”
This mindset aligns beautifully with the 7 Habits we practice every day:
Habit 1: Be Proactive teaches us to take responsibility for our learning and attitude, even when things feel challenging.
Habit 2: Begin With the End in Mind helps us set goals and visualize the growth we are working toward.
Habit 3: Put First Things First reminds us to stay focused and practice consistently, even when progress is slow.
Habit 4: Think Win-Win encourages us to celebrate not only our own growth but also the success of others.
Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood helps us receive feedback with an open mind—a key part of improving.
Habit 6: Synergize shows that working together helps us learn faster and accomplish more than we could alone.
Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw reminds us that growth is a lifelong journey, and we must take care of our minds, bodies, and hearts to keep improving.
When students and adults practice a growth mindset through the lens of the 7 Habits, challenges become opportunities and mistakes become stepping stones. Together, we are building a school community where everyone is capable of learning, improving, and leading.
Students will enjoy a minute video of Mr. Musgrove and Dr. Romanchuk each week teaching a new concept that aligns with growth mindset! We are so excited for this year's journey.
